Surfers End Collection
Now entering our ninth year, since the introduction of the "Surfers End Collection", Richard Bubnowski Design is proud to continue and expand their collection of custom heirloom furniture. Everyday, new ideas develop, pre-existing designs evolve, and new clients ask us for something new. In the past several years we have designed a wide array of pieces from kitchen islands to hanging beds, and custom tables to chairs. With each new problem to solve, a new idea is conceived.
After years of developing an idea about architecture and design that finds inspiration in the everyday, Richard Bubnowski Design continues to expand its efforts to include interior furnishings. During a thirty year career in the field of architecture, our aesthetic has evolved into a soft modernism based on traditional materials and methods of construction. This ideal that has occurred in the houses we have designed, also emerges in our furniture. In many cases, the furniture line by RBD complements and expands the built environments that we create. Influenced by the work of Wright, R.M. Schindler, Greene & Greene, and Stickley, RBD's work consists of straightforward, innovative design, but with firm roots in traditional and early modern architecture and furniture making. We approach programs and problems with the belief that the finest solutions are both logical and direct, leading to good timeless design.
