Warren Avenue

SPRING LAKE, NEW JERSEY

This new 4600 square foot home will initially be used as a summer residence for a family that currently resides full time in the Chicago area.  At some point in the future, this may however be used as a primary residence.  The property is a relatively flat 75' x 150' site located within walking distance to the ocean and nearby lake.  The design draws inspiration from classic turn of the century beach houses of the Northeast, but has been reinterpreted for contemporary and energy efficient living.  Upper level porches take full advantage of natural breezes and ocean views.  A curved front porch with a metal roof defines the main entrance as one approaches the property.  Geothermal heating and cooling as well as solar power are to be used.  This house is set to begin construction during the summer of 2010.
